Guns Up! Combat Veteran Hunts

Programs

Free hunts. Lifelong brotherhood.

Everything a veteran needs for a morning in the blind is covered — and so is a place at the table for every season after.

What we do

Combat Veteran Waterfowl Hunts

Guided duck and goose hunts in the rice country near Richvale, California, in the heart of the Pacific Flyway.

Each hunt puts a veteran in a blind with people who understand where they have been. Gear, licenses, meals and a place at the table are covered so nothing stands between a veteran and the morning. Every hunt ends back at the lodge — cleaning birds, sharing a meal, and being part of a team again.

Come Back Every Year

The hunt is the beginning, not the end. Veterans are invited back every season, to the preseason barbecue, and to help maintain blinds in the off-season.

Continuity is the point. Friendships that stand the test of time are what carry a veteran through the seasons when PTSD resurfaces. Returning veterans welcome the newcomers, and the circle grows one hunt at a time.

What a Gift Covers

Nothing between a veteran and the morning

Donations cover everything from adaptive equipment and transportation to hunting gear, licenses, and meals — and fund the outreach that makes sure every veteran, regardless of ability, can take part.

Where We’re Headed

Planned, not yet running

These are the founders’ next steps. They are offered as access, funding and volunteers allow — none is a current program.

  • Planned

    Overnight Fishing Trips

Overnight catfishing and guided striped bass trips for veterans who have been through the program.

  • Planned

Upland Bird and Wild Pig Hunts

Extending the same brotherhood to upland and big-game seasons.

Support the Mission

Gifts cover gear, licenses, transportation and meals so a combat veteran can hunt for free — and come back next year. Guns Up! is a 501(c)(3); donations may be tax deductible.
